2020 Triumph Thruxton RS First Look
The Thruxton’s 1200cc High Power (HP) engine produces 104 horsepower which is eight more power than the previous Thruxton R. This increase comes courtesy of some significant engine upgrades including high compression pistons, revised ports and cam profile, a secondary air system and lighter-weight engine components. The engine has been tuned to rev to 6500 rpm, (a 500 rpm increase) with peak torque being achieved at 4850 rpm (700 rpm lower than the Thruxton R).
Weight is down 13 pounds due to these refinements and by utilizing a lightweight battery, and overall handling has been improved thanks to a Showa big-piston fork, Öhlins rear shocks, Brembo M50 radial Monobloc calipers, and Metzeler Racetec RR tires.
Standard features found on the Thruxton RS include three riding modes, torque-assist clutch, ABS and switchable Traction Control, LED daytime running headlight, underseat USB, and more.
Additionally, Triumph offers a bevy of original accessories to make this pavement murdering, head turning modern classic your own.
The Thruxton RS will be available in two colorways: Jet Black and Storm Gray / Matte Silver and is priced at $16,200.
