2020 Triumph Street Triple RS 765 First Look Rennie Scaysbrook | October 7, 2019 Triumph has unveiled a revamped Street Triple RS 765 for 2020. The Hinckley, UK, manufacturer has given the raucous little streetbike a nice jump in power of nine percent, with the engine being developed by Triumph’s Moto2 test team in Spain, with the numbers claiming 121 hp and 58 lb-ft of torque from the inline three-cylinder motor. Hey, good lookin’! The 765 is still one of our favorite nakeds and the new one looks even better. The engineers got this power hike via a new exhaust cam and re-machining the crank, clutch, and balancer to reduce internal friction and mass. There’s also a new exhaust pipe, the throttle is more responsive and shorter gearbox ratios in first and second gear to give it more pep when you crack the throttle from standstill. The clutch is also now a slip and assist version. The suspension is once again donated by Showa up front in the 41mm Showa Big Piston Fork and Ohlins at the back in the fully-adjustable STX40 shock. Brakes are Brembo’s M50 calipers as per the old model and you get a reworked body with sharper lines for the LED Daytime Running Light, side panels, seat unit, and cowl and belly pan. This enables GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation, and phone and music operation via the switch cubes, and displayed on the TFT screen. Triumph is claiming a lithe 366 lb dry for the 765, which when combined with the power increase, will make for a very lively ride indeed. For more Triumph news and reviews, click here
