2020 Ducati Panigale V2 First Look
Rennie Scaysbrook | October 23, 2019
A name change and a few subtle and not so subtle tweaks are the highlights for Ducati’s baby superbike.
Now called the Ducati Panigale V2 and priced at $16,495 MSRP, the machine that was originally released back in 2016 is still powered by the 955cc Superquadro V-twin motor, which is now Euro-5 compliant thanks to a new exhaust and mapping. Ducati claims they’ve even managed to coax an extra five horsepower and extra 1.5 lb-ft of torque, which now measures at 155 hp at 10,750 rpm and 76 lb-ft of torque at 9000 rpm, pushing a scant 338 lb (dry) weight.
New is the use of the Bosh IMU and Cornering ABS, a new up and down quickshifter, plus traction, engine brake, and wheelie control. The TC system is Ducati’s DTC EVO 2, which the company says has been recalibrated for a smoother intervention.
On the chassis side, the Ducati engineers have employed a single-sided swingarm, which, when combined with the new bodywork, makes it much more in line with the 2020 Panigale V4 range.
