Cross Fork, PA (July 28, 2019) – It was a dominant Sunday for the Tely Energy Racing/KTM squad as teammates Grant and Steward Baylor claimed the top two positions at the Rattlesnake National Enduro to sweep the Pro division once again for Round 5 of the 2019 AMA National Enduro Series in Cross Fork, Pennsylvania.
While both riders have continued to prove their championship merit this season, it was Grant who stole the show in Pennsylvania. He came out swinging in the day’s opening test, besting his brother and teammate – Steward – by seven seconds aboard the KTM 450 XC-F. He continued to excel throughout the day, winning each of the six tests by a healthy margin to secure a 57-second victory, his second of the season.
Grant Baylor: “Today was a really good day for me. From the first test, I just felt really comfortable and I was able to get into a good rhythm. I’m happy to get my second win of the season and move up to second overall in the points.”
Steward rode solid all day, maintaining a top-three position in each of the six tests. He pushed hard in the first four tests to finish runner-up to his brother, claiming a third in the fifth section. He finished off with another strong second in the final test, which gave him a solid second overall to further extend his lead in the championship standings with five rounds remaining in the series.
Steward Baylor: “I felt like I rode smart all day, I was just a little too reserved to catch Grant – he was on fire from test one and I couldn’t do anything to catch up. Overall, I’m happy the way points worked out and I was able to extend my points lead in the championship.”
