Carlin Dunne finishes lower section more than five seconds ahead of the nearest motorcycle competitor with the Ducati Streetfighter V4 prototype

Codie Vahsholtz, competing on Multistrada 1260 in Heavyweight Division, qualifies in third place overall Ducatisti to arrive in Colorado Springs for “All Roads Lead To Pikes Peak” owner’s gathering this Friday.
Colorado Springs, CO (June 25, 2019) – Carlin Dunne of the Spider Grips Ducati team will be in superpole position for Sunday’s “Race to the Clouds” after clocking the best time during today’s qualifying run in the lower section (4:09.550). Dunne is the first to ride the Ducati Streetfighter V4 prototype, which will compete in the Exhibition Powersport Division. Teammate Codie Vahsholtz, who qualified in third place overall, will ride the Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak in the Heavyweight Division (4:15.775).
Fans throughout the world will have the chance to experience the race through the Official Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) App, where fans can listen to live flag-to-flag coverage on KRDO 1240AM radio and follow live timing. This 97th running of “The Race To The Clouds” marks the world premiere of Ducati’s new Streetfighter V4 in prototype form. The Streetfighter V4 derives directly from the sporty Panigale V4, stripped of its fairings, and fitted with high and wide handlebars. The motorcycle also includes a high-performance 1100cc Desmosedici Stradale engine, kept in hand by aerodynamic profiles specifically designed for this model. The production version of the Streetfighter V4 is scheduled to be available in Ducati dealerships starting in Spring 2020.
In addition, Ducati celebrates the kick-off of their “All Roads Lead To Pikes Peak” customer rally this weekend, by providing Ducatisti an exclusive experience and unprecedented access to the race, the team, and the mountain, with the team in and around vibrant Colorado Springs.
