Corona, CA (May 15, 2019) – The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team has assembled its three-rider roster of Adam Cianciarulo, Martin Davalos and Garrett Marchbanks who are set to take on the opening round this weekend. The Hangtown Motocross Classic just outside of Sacramento is always filled with anticipation and the trio have been eager to get the season rolling with the hope of bringing the team its first outdoor championship since 2012. Weather will likely be an issue with rain in the forecast leading up to and on race day.
Cianciarulo will lead the charge for the team as he comes off a supercross season that saw him take five wins on the way to second overall. Knowing he nearly collected his first championship, the drive to put it all on the line outdoors will be evident to all who will be watching.
“After Vegas, it was a tough pill to swallow but it makes me even more motivated to go out and be successful during the motocross season,” said Cianciarulo. “This team deserves a championship and I would love to be able to bring that to them. It’s been a while since I’ve lined up for a motocross race, but I couldn’t be more excited about starting fresh.”
Davalos is another rider that hasn’t ridden motocross in a while, sitting out the 2018 season due to injury. Those injuries lingered in supercross, but the Ecuadorian rider has made efforts to address them and is hoping for a solid motocross season.
“It’s always exciting to start a new season and everyone is entering with the same nerves and anticipation,” said Davalos. “We have been testing and working hard so we can start at the top right off the bat. We’ll see what happens with the weather as that always can throw a wrench into the plan, but we’ll be ready.”
The 2018 motocross season marked the start of Marchbanks’ professional career. Just as he was gaining momentum last year, his season was cut short due to injury. Knowing he was starting to show his true speed and got the nerves of being a rookie out of the way, Marchbanks is ready to showcase what he truly can do this season.
“Last year was a dream come true turning pro with the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team and I learned so much in those first few races,” said Marchbanks. “It was disappointing to get injured right when I was feeling more and more confident, but that will help me this year and I can’t wait to get started.”
The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders will be signing autographs on Thursday, May 16 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at The Palladio shopping center in Folsom, California (might be moved depending on weather).
Saturday’s race from the Hangtown Motocross Classic will be broadcast live on MAVTV and NBC Sports starting at 4 p.m. ET.
