Press Release | April 2, 2019
The Shoei GT-Air II touring helmet is now available in North America.
The GT-Air II is Shoei’s premiere full-face touring helmet. It features a lengthened internal sun shield for optimal sun-glare protection, an all-new “first-position” shield opening for advanced ventilation and defogging, enhanced aerodynamics and noise-reduction technology, and the ability to seamlessly integrate with the all-new Sena SRL2 Communication System.
Shoei GT-Air II Intercom-Ready Design
The Sena SRL2 communication system was specially developed for the GT-Air II, and is sold exclusively by Sena.
Shoei GT-Air II Shield System
The GT-Air II’s shield system was designed to provide a large, distortion-free view, and doesn’t require tools to swap out. It has an internal sun shield, and the outer shield has a new “first position” opening that’s optimized for venting and defogging without allowing in excess wind. The outer shield has an airtight window beading to keep water from getting into the helmet.
Shoei GT-Air II Aerodynamics and Ventilation
The compact, wind-tunnel-optimized shell shape reduces air resistance and drag. The improved, airtight window beading and the internal sun shield system aid in minimizing unwanted wind noise inside the helmet. The GT-Air II has three intake and five exhaust vents that have been shaped and positioned for improved cool-air intake and hot-air expulsion. A redesigned upper air-intake shutter and enlarged lower-air intake opening yield greater airflow throughout the entire helmet.
Shoei GT-Air II Interior System
Inside, the 3D Max-Dry liner system is removable, washable, adjustable, and replaceable. Shoei says it can dissipate sweat two-times faster than traditional nylon interiors. The GT-Air II secures on the head with Shoei’s Micro Ratchet Chinstrap.
