Throwback Thursday: Rick Ryan Scores Holeshot at Hollister Hills
In this week’s Throwback we fire up the flux capacitor and dial the DeLorean back to 1986 and the AMA 125cc Motocross National in Northern California’s Hollister Hills OHV Park. It marked the one and only outdoor national held at the track, which featured both 125cc and 500cc Nationals. This perfect capture, shot by Kinney Jones, shows the start of the first 125MX moto with Northern California’s own Rick Ryan nailing the holeshot on his Kawasaki KX125 and leading the pack into the first turn ahead of Bobby Moore (No. 49), Jeff Leisk (No. 203), Craig Canoy (No. 99) Brian Myerscough (No. 22) and George Holland (No. 11). Eddie Warren came through to win both motos and score the overall victory.
