Corona, CA (January 9, 2019) – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo and Garrett Marchbanks will travel to Glendale, Arizona this weekend for Round 2 of the Monster Energy Supercross series with their eye on the podium. State Farm Stadium will host the first round inside a football stadium, usually making for a long start straight to showcase the power of the Kawasaki KX250.
Last year was the first time Cianciarulo visited Glendale and it was a track he liked, resulting in a podium finish in third. As he enters Round 2, there is a lot of positive takeaways from the opening round, including being the top qualifier and winning his heat race en route to a fifth-place in the main event.
“I had fun racing in Glendale last year and can’t wait to go back,” said Cianciarulo. “I made a few mistakes last weekend and would love to redeem myself. It will be nice that we won’t have rain as a factor with the closed stadium.”
With all the nerves that could have taken over rookie Marchbanks, he made it through his first supercross race with a great result in sixth. He has another chance this weekend to showcase his speed under the bright lights of State Farm Stadium.
“It wasn’t the most ‘normal’ first race, but I was happy with the result,” said Marchbanks. “I’m trying to learn each time I go out on the track and the team has been great with helping me along. I’m looking forward to this weekend.”
The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders will be signing autographs on Friday, January 11 from 6-7 p.m. at Kelly’s Kawasaki in Mesa, Arizona. Saturday’s race from State Farm Stadium will be broadcast live on NBC Sports starting at 9 p.m. ET.
