2019 Ducati Multistrada 950 and 950 S First Look

2019 Ducati Multistrada 950 and 950 S First Look—Built with not only long-distance touring in mind but more accessibility for a wider variety of riders as well, the 2019 Multistrada 950 aims to put Ducati adventure performance within everyone’s grasp.
Powering Ducati’s smallest “multi-road” motorcycle is the 937cc Testastretta L-Twin which produces an impressive (claimed) 113 hp at 9,000 rpm with 71 ft-lbs of torque at 7,750 rpm. Styled like its 1260 bigger brother, the 950 also inherits the six-axis Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and Ride by Wire throttle.
2019 Ducati Multistrada 950 and 950 S First Look
Together, these two systems offer four distinct ride modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro) with bespoke Bosch braking and cornering ABS intervention, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) settings, Vehicle Hold Control (VHS) for easier uphill starts, and a hydraulic clutch. An upgraded Multistrada 950 S model gets all of this plus Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evolution (DSS) – a semi-active, electronically-monitored, self-adjusting suspension system – Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) both up and down, and a five-inch full-color TFT dash. The base 950 has an LCD dash and employs a fully-adjustable 48mm KYB fork and Sachs rear shock instead. Furthermore – a full LED headlight with Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL), a keyless hands-free system, cruise control, and backlit switchgear controls complete the “S” package.
Both models come with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels that provide a nice balance between on- and off-road riding, however, only the “S” version gives you the option for tubeless spoked wheels. As a versatile motorcycle designed to tackle any road or adventure, Ducati has personalization packages including Touring, Sport, Urban, and Enduro kits to better tailor the Multistrada 950 to however you plan on using yours.
