This is a press release from AMA West Hare Scrambles…
(October 1, 2018) – The 2018 AMA KENDA/SRT West Hare Scramble series heads to Stillwater, Oklahoma this weekend for the East meets West Hare Scramble. After a long summer break, racers are anxious to get back in the dirt and secure their points for the remainder of the season. It is sure to be exciting racing as the East riders meet the West and championship points tighten.
The chase for the 2018 series championship continues, but sees a big shake up as points leader Trystan Hart will find himself out of the hunt after recently sustaining an injury while racing. It would seem like smooth sailing to a second consecutive championship with just two rounds left for reigning champion Max Gerston, but he too finds himself with an injury of his own that may prevent him from competing in Oklahoma. It gets even more exciting with the unknown fate of the leaders, as there is a flat out tie for third place in points between Dante Oliveira and Tavis Coy. With zero throw away options for Pro riders, it’ is completely unpredictable who will be crowned 2018 champion.
We have a special treat for everyone coming out to Stillwater for the East meets West race! Guy Cooper will be opening his museum to us on Friday October 5th from 5pm – 7pm and again on Saturday the 6th from 5pm – 8pm. From his racing memorabilia, Indian collection and his massive bicycle collection, it will definitely be a sight to see! 7221 West 19th Ave. Stillwater, OK 74074.
