2018 Suzuka 8 Hours Friday Results.—Kawasaki Team Green’s Jonathan Rea put in a stunning performance on Friday to take the provisional pole position for the 2018 Suzuka 8 Hours.
The current, triple WorldSBK Champion unleashed a stunning 2:05.168, smashing the previous mark set by former race winner Pol Espargaro in 2015 of 2:06.000.

Rea and teammates Leon Haslam and Kazuma Watanabe took the top spot ahead of the Yamaha Factory Racing Team’s defending Suzuka champions Katsuyuki Nakasuga, Alex Lowes, and Michael van der Mark, with Red Bull Honda with Japan Post (Takumi Takahashi, Takaaki Nakagami and PJ Jacobsen) taking third place on the provisional grid.
Fourth is held by Yoshimura Suzuki Motul Racing (Takuya Tsuda, Sylvain Guintoli, and Bradley Ray). Musashi RT Harc-Pro Honda (Dominique Aegerter, Ryo Mizuno, and Randy de Puniet) round out the top five.
The Yamaha Austria Racing Team of (Broc Parkes, Marvin Fritz, and Takuya Fujita) are the fastest full-time EWC team in eighth place. Title leaders F.C.C. TSR Honda France (Josh Hook, Alan Techer, and Freddy Foray) will start from 12th.
The top 10 will now go into a one-lap shootout in the Suzuka 8 Hour Top 10 Trial to determine the final grid positions.
The 41st Suzuka 8 Hours will be flagged off at 11.30am local time (GMT+9) this Sunday, with a night-time finish scheduled for 7.30pm.
