Jayson Uribe to Race with Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda in West Coast MotoAmerica Rounds
Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda announced that we will be fielding a second rider for the next three rounds of the MotoAmerica Motul Superbike Championship. Jayson Uribe, of Napa Valley, CA will be riding alongside Cameron Petersen for the West Coast rounds. For the first time in almost a decade, there will be two Hondas on the premier American superbike grid.
Jayson comes to the team with a wealth of racing experience. Having raced selected rounds last season in the MotoAmerica Supersport class, his full time ride was with Team AGR in the Spanish CEV Moto2 Championship. Prior to that Jayson raced in BSB Moto3 Class and in the French 600 Superstock Series where he became the first American to win a race in the French championship. With a proven ability to adapt to any platform quickly, Jayson is a prime example of the team’s desire to develop young talent in America.
“Well we are finally ready to add a second rider to the Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda team and we have put a deal together with Jayson Uribe,” Danny Walker, Team Principal said. “We have known Jayson and his family for a long time and they are truly a great racing family.
“Besides having a vast level of racing experience, Jayson sets the standard for 19 year olds when it comes to work ethic. If you have ever been to an American Supercamp where he has been an instructor, you can attest to this fact.
“Right now we are set to do the next 3 rounds and then see how things work for both the team and for Jayson.
“Our expectations for him are simple; have fun and Learn.”
Jayson has been spending his time this season adapting to the new Honda CBR 1000RR SP2 running in the AFM championship. He brings an incredible work ethic and a strong desire to develop as a superbike contender. For the first time since entering the Superbike Championship, the Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda squad will have a full complement of riders and crew to maximize points scoring potential
“I’m very excited for this amazing opportunity to ride a superbike with Danny Walker and his amazing crew at the Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda team,” Uribe said. “Danny has helped me through many stages of my racing career, and to get the chance to finally ride for him on a proper 1000cc motorcycle is a dream come true. That being said, I’m entering the superbike class with no expectations but to progress and develop myself and the bike. I am confident that with the support of the team, we can make great things happen!”
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at Laguna in a few weeks. If you’re coming to the races, please stop by and meet Cameron and Jayson.
