We now have a Yamaha Tenere 700 Review. We traveled to Spain and spent two days riding the European model that will be available there about a year ahead of the North American model.
Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid Rips Through Australia—The bike everyone has been screaming at the Tuning Fork brand to make—the Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid—is doing the international PR rounds with some star riders on board.
Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid Rips Through Australia
Yamaha has undertaken a four-stage tour, taking in first Australia with official Yamaha Dakar racer, Rodney Faggotter; Morocco with his Mr Dakar himself, Stephane Peterhansel; South America with Adrien van Beveren; and finally, a large chunk of Europe with riders Nick Sanders, Alessandro Botturi, David Fretigne, Herbert Schwartz, Cristòbal Guerrero.
Based off the Yamaha MT-07 streetbike that has become an instant classic for Yamaha in the five years it’s been on sale, we’d put money on the Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid coming next year as a production bike as the international response has been nothing short of staggering.
Yamaha has been inundated with enquires of this machine since the original T7 prototype was shown in 2016, so they will not want to wait much longer before the hysteria around the Tenere dies down.
And besides, there’s a certain Austrian manufacturer has their new 790 Adventure on the way, as well as class stalwarts BMW releasing a revamped F 800 GS and GSA for the world’s ADV riders.
Today we have the first video for you, courtesy of Yamaha Australia. Rider Rodney Faggotter is something of a local legend Down Under, having won everything there is to win off-road. This year, he made his official debut as a Dakar Yamaha factory racer.
The bike in the video is still a prototype, and there is still no word on if this will be a 2019 or even a 2020 model.
And sadly, no, the U.S. will not be part of the Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid PR event.
Come on, Yamaha. Sell us this thing already!
