Throwback Thursday: Eric Bostrom Leads Laguna Supersport Pack

In this week’s Throwback we dial it back 18 years to Y2K. This photo is from Laguna Seca round of the AMA Pro Honda Oils 600 Supersport Series. It shows Eric Bostrom out front on the factory Kawasaki. Bostrom is being chased by Erion Honda’s Kurtis Roberts and the rest of the pack. This race was ultimately won by Yamaha’s Jamie Hacking. The 2000 AMA 600 Supersport Series proved the most exciting title chase in the history of the series. It all came down to the last race between Roberts and Bostrom. Roberts made a daring pass in the series finale later that season at Willow Springs to win the championship. Roberts and Bostrom ended the year tied on points, but Roberts won it since he had more wins.
