Bloss, Sexton AMA Supercross Rookies Of The Year – The American Motorcyclist Association has announced the 2018 class champions and rookies of the year for Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship.

Husqvarna rider Jason Anderson is the 2018 450SX champion. Yamaha rider Aaron Plessinger won the West 250SX Class title. And Husqvarna rider Zach Osborne took home the East 250SX Class championship.
“The AMA extends its congratulations to all three Monster Energy AMA Supercross class champions,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “Jason, Aaron and Zach are fast riders and tough competitors. They demonstrated the focus, energy and pace to come out on top at the end of another grueling Monster Energy AMA Supercross season.”
KTM rider Benny Bloss is the 2018 450SX Class Rookie of the Year. And Honda rider Chase Sexton is the 2018 250SX Class Rookie of the Year.
“Benny Bloss and Chase Sexton were the strongest rookies in their respective classes in 2018, and earned these honors against tough competition throughout the season,” said AMA Supercross Manager Mike Pelletier. “We look forward to seeing both riders continue racing in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series for many seasons to come.”
Anderson captured his first top-class championship at the season-ending event in Las Vegas, finishing 9 points ahead of KTM rider Marvin Musquin. Anderson had four main event wins in 2018.
Bloss, Sexton AMA Supercross Rookies Of The Year
Both the East and West 250SX titles were decided in Las Vegas, as well.
In the West class, Plessinger took home his first career AMA Supercross title by a 2-point margin over the Kawasaki-mounted Adam Cianciarulo.
Osborne successfully defended his 250SX East title by eight points over KTM rider Jordon Smith.
The Rookie of the Year award is presented to the first-year rider who accumulates the most points in each Monster Energy AMA Supercross class.
Bloss ended the 2018 season 15th in the AMA Supercross championship standings. Sexton finished fifth in the 250SX West championship standings.
