Yoshimura RS-4 Slip-On Exhaust for the Honda Africa Twin | PRODUCT REVIEW | The stock Honda Africa Twin has a nice exhaust note but the muffler is bulky and heavy. If you are looking to drop some weight and improve that sound a little, the Yoshimura RS-4 slip-on is a great option. It mounts up in just minutes and saves 4.5 pounds over stock (8.5 pounds versus 12 pounds). The RS-4 is designed to mate up nicely to the stock heat shield and the smaller, cleaner look with the carbon end cap is a big improvement over stock.

Standout Feature: Over four pounds lighter than the stock muffler
Rider Analysis
The Yoshimura RS-4 slip-on provides a claimed 6% increase in peak torque and horsepower over stock but that is not the primary reason we chose to change out the stock system. Removing 4.5 pounds off a 533-pound motorcycle is also not something you are likely to notice, but taking that weight off the rear of the bike couldn’t hurt. The stock Africa Twin exhaust and large heat shield looks like a boat anchor on the back of an otherwise clean looking bike and that is the primary reason we chose to install the Yoshimura RS-4 exhaust.
The RS-4 does provide a little better exhaust note on the Africa Twin, even with the optional quiet insert installed. The stainless steel, “Works” finish canister and carbon end cap look great and have held up well. We have put over 2000 miles on the bike since mounting up the Yosh exhaust and it still sounds just as good as the first day we installed it.CN
