Blake Conner Explains the Rever App at the KTM Adventure Rider Rally.
The 2017 KTM Adventure Rider Rally was held in Crested Butte, Colorado for the second time in three years. With nearly 500 attendees including a massive staff of KTM event planners, celebrity riders, world-class racers and helpful technicians, it was a popular destination to say the least. On top of that, nearly 30 vendors from the Adventure Motorcycling industry showcased their latest adventure-motorcycle gear and services.
We had a quick chat with Rever’s Blake Conner, inside their booth at the KTM Adventure Rider Rally to see why they made the trip, what kind of cool new stuff they have and what they think the KTM Adventure Rider Rally is all about.
What product in your booth is drawing the most interest from the attendees here at the KTM Rally?
Blake Conner: Rever provides all the routes for the official guided or self-guided rides taking off here from basecamp. All these routes are planned ahead of time for the customers in attendance and we build them into Rever so riders can easily find the routes and navigate through the routes with just their phones and the app.
When people have the routes on their iOS or Android phone, they can see all the routes; zoom in, follow and all that. Or, if they prefer, we can take the GPX files from the Rever routes and upload them to a GPS device on their bike or similar. So, we can help them to ride the full routes either way and that’s what we do here at the event. We help people ride awesome routes. It makes it very easy to get the whole KTM Adventure Rider Rally experience without having to carry a map around.
Rever is an established app in the Adventure riding space, but we still have about half of the traffic in our booth that come in and are exposed to it for the first time. So, it’s great to walk them through the app’s features and how it works so they can go out and use it on their rides here. Then, if they have questions or feedback, we’re right here ready to get to work for their next day’s adventures.
Why should riders consider attending the KTM Adventure Rider Rally?
Blake Conner: In particular with the KTM rally, if someone ever wanted an opportunity to ride with a brand’s ambassadors and/or factory racers this is the place to do it. It’s a big perk to get to ride with Quinn Cody or Taylor Robert or Ronnie Renner or any of those guys. I think a lot of customers should and do come for that.
I also think you’re coming to an event that has a great vendor area where everyone is participating in adventure motorcycling, so seeing what others are doing on their bikes and all that is cool. And then there’s pre-curated routes so riders can go out there and know the routes are good routes and that they can go do those independently or sign up for a group ride with an ambassador.
They also have the demo truck here, running demo rides on all the KTM models. The people are great and they’re all pretty like-minded, so there are definitely a lot of different reasons for someone to come to one of these rallies.CN
