Tarmac training with the American legend is now part of the TTBC
Colin Edwards’ Texas Tornado Boot Camp, the premier Yamaha Motor USA & Yamalube USA backed motorcycle training facility, is pleased to announce the September 21-24 Boot Camp will include road instruction at the new Speedsportz racing park located in New Caney, TX.
This special four-day experience with Edwards and his crew is the first of its kind and will feature three days on the dirt (at TTBC) and one day on the asphalt. Students will be riding Yamaha TTR-125 and TTR-230 machines.
The all-new Speedsportz facility is located just a 40-minute drive from the Boot Camp headquarters in Montgomery, TX, and features two road courses, garage spaces, and a club house. On-course instruction will take place on the paved short track, a 25ft wide half-mile course.
“The first time we rode this kind of set-up on the pavement was over 20 years ago,” says Edwards. “The polished concrete behind Walmart was amazing—till the cops ran us off! I’m really happy we found a place close by that’s willing to let us come play and experience a different feel with more traction. Sign up quick, spots will be going fast for this one! I look forward to seeing you there.”
With this new addition to the four-day agenda, the camp is offering the asphalt instruction, but it’s not as a requirement. The option is given to students to stay at the camp and work with a one-on-one riding coach on the dirt, while others go to the pavement.
TTBC asks that those who register to bring your own leathers, gloves, and boots. The camp provides all off-road gear and the Arai helmets provided will work for the pavement.
Registration is now available for this special September 21-24 camp. Don’t miss your opportunity to learn the latest riding techniques and “feel” from the two-time WorldSBK champion, Colin Edwards.
