Farewell model released by Bologna
Ducati has taken the wraps off what will be the final Panigale superbike model at a lavish event held at Pebble Beach on the Monterey coast in California.
Dubbed the 1299 R Final Edition in the Italian Tri Color scheme, the machine will signal an end to Ducati’s V-twin superbike with Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicalli releasing details of the newly awaited V4 at the same event.
WorldSBK riders Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri presented the Final Edition machines that have been developed off the recently released Superleggera, with a claimed 209hp on tap from the Superquadro motor. The Final Edition sports the usual Ohlins and Bosch IMU goodies, as well as an Akrapovic titanium exhaust.
