Cooper Webb In For Southwick National Motocross – Monster Energy Yamaha’s Cooper Webb says he’s going to suit up for tomorrow’s Southwick round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, July 8, after suffering a hard get-off last week at RedBud (Michigan). Webb was thrown over the handlebars at high speed heading into the first turn in the first 450MX moto. He sat out the rest of the moto and did not start the second moto. But he says he’s ready to go for Southwick.

“I’m very thankful to be OK after last weekend’s first-turn wreck,” Cooper said. “I got checked out, and thankfully, nothing is broken. I’ve been pretty sore this week, but I was still able to get some solid sand practice in, and I’m excited to get some good results this weekend! I love racing in sand, and I have a lot of good friends in the New England area who are coming out to see me. I can’t wait to get up there and race in front of everybody!”
Webb has had a tough time in his rookie year in the 450MX class in the 2017 outdoor nationals, having finished in the top five in just three of the 12 motos run thus far. His best moto finish this year is fourth, which came in the second moto at Thunder Valley (Colorado). He is currently 12th in the 450MX Championship.
