Lombardy (June 26, 2017) – It was a great weekend on the Ottobiano racetrack, which was capped off with a Sunday full of races that were nothing less than perfect for Sidi and their champions. The GP of Lombardy counted as round 11 in the 2017 Motocross World Series and the star of the show was none other than the number one in world-class motocross, Tony Cairoli (Ktm). It was a perfect weekend for Cairoli: pole position and a double whammy, with victory in both race1 and race 2.
This was a “heavy” result which keeps Tony in possession of the red card as leader of the overall standings in the World Series. He commands with 431 points, extending his lead even further over his closest rivals, Paulin in second place (with 364 points) and Desalle in third (with 361 points). For Tony Cairoli and Sidi, the ride to the title number 9 continues.
The MX2 Sidi riders had gritty competition as well, where the win went to Switzerland’s Jeremy Seewer (Suzuki), who was first in race 1 and second in race 2, and American Thomas Covington (Husqvarna) made it to the third step on the podium. Seewer is currently second in the MX2 World Series general standings.
