2018 KTM Motocross SX Lineup – KTM revealed its complete lineup of SX and SX-F motocross for the 2018 model year, and the watchword is — refinements. Except for the revamped 2018 SX 85, which was already announced, KTM’s latest motocrossers feature mostly refinements rather than big updates.
Below is a list of changes from KTM for each model, from the largest displacement model to the smallest:

2018 450 SX-F $9599
UPDATED WP AER 48 front fork with a sophisticated air spring design and separate damping for easy adjustment to any track condition, rider weight or skill level. A new setting improves damping.
UPDATED rear suspension damping settings are perfectly matched to the WP AER 48 front fork.
NEW radiator guards provide better airflow in muddy conditions.
NEW C4 bearing fitted to the transmission shaft for a bigger overlap in the cases for improved reliability at high operating temperatures.
NEW clutch plates from nitrated steel for reduced wear on the steel clutch basket.
NEW stronger lithium-ion battery provides more reliable starting while still being extremely lightweight.
NEW MIM (Metal Inject Molded) shift star provides a stronger surface for improved reliability.

NEW engine with improved power and torque over the entire rev range is 1.5 pounds lighter.
NEW cylinder is designed around an all new power valve system that is adjustable and increases torque and controllability.
NEW crankshaft is lighter than before while having more inertia for better torque. Optimized balancing reduces vibrations.
NEW DS (Diaphram Spring) clutch is more compact with better performance than a conventional coil spring design.
NEW crankcases are more compact with a shaft arrangement that is close as possible to the center of gravity.
NEW lighter transmission with the same motocross-specific gear ratios.
NEW chomoly steel frame is nearly a pound lighter with 7% more torsional rigidity and 25% less longitudinal stiffness for more agility and better bump absorption.
NEW WP AER 43 front fork with a sophisticated air spring design and separate damping for easy adjustment to any track condition, rider weight or skill level.
NEW WP PDS (Progressive Damping System) rear shock provides excellent bump absorption and stability.
NEW aluminum subframe is lighter and more compact for better mass centralization.
NEW cooling system features integrated crankcase cooling and two radiators for high performance. The newly designed system uses the shroud and grill to protect the radiator in a crash.
NEW sharp bodywork that is based of the full-sized SX models with the same contact points and overall feel for perfect ergonomics.
NEW airbox similar to the larger SX models allows for air filter changes in seconds without tools.
