2017 X-Factor Indiana GNCC Results – Heavy rain leading up to the inaugural X-Factor GNCC in Peru, Indiana, May 20-12, proved to be a challenge for both organizers and racers. The wet and muddy conditions forced the Racer Production crew to combine the morning amateur race with the afternoon pro race, and after the two-hour race on the eight-mile-a-lap racecourse, a new face would emerge at the top step of the podium. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Thad Duvall finally captured his first win of the season, and he was joined by his teammate Josh Strang on the podium, as well as N-Fab/ProAm Yamaha’s Ricky Russell.

And where was points leader Kailub Russell? He crossed the finish line way back in 14th overall (eighth in the XC1 class) after crashing with another rider in the first turn.
Ricky Russell led the first two laps, but DuVall would lead the final two laps (of the four-lap race) to claim his first win of the year. Russell eventually slipped back to third after Strang, who at one time was as far back as fifth, passed him on the final lap.
Strang took the checkered flag just 28 seconds behind his teammate, Duvall, with Russell just a second in back of Strang.
And Chris Bach (FMF/Maxxis/RPM KTM) was right behind Russell in fourth.
Approximately three minutes later came Beta’s Jordan Ashburn for fifth overall.
Zach Nolan was the winner of the XC2 250 Pro (16-24), with Michael Witkowski (KTM) finishing second and Craig DeLong (Husqvarna) third.
In the WMX class, Becca Sheets (KTM), Mackenzie Tricker (KTM) and Rachel Gutish (KTM) went 1-2-3. However, results in both XC2 and WMX are still provisional.
Jason Thomas led from start to finish in the FMF XC3 125 Pro-Am division, with Mark Heresco (KTM) and David Quillen (KTM) rounding out the top three.
