How To: Replacing WP AER48 Fork Seals – There is a misconception that if an oil seal goes out or starts leaking on an air fork collapse is inevitable. A nice feature of the AER48 fork is that the air is housed in a separate chamber and a leaking fork seal has zero effect on the air pressure and the fork will not collapse. We recently experienced a leaky fork seal on a set of AER48 forks, (on the air spring side) and rode with it leaking oil with out issue. Replacing the fork seal isn’t much different on the AER48 than a regular spring fork and we put together a video showing how it’s done. (We plan to have more How To videos like this in the near future.)

If you have any doubts to your abilities or lack the proper tools to do the job, take it to a qualified mechanic, you can do serious damage to the fork if done improperly.
