2017 Oakland 250cc Supercross Results: When you’re hot, you’re hot. Right now, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill is hot. On a very tricky Oakland track, Hill once again backed up his first-place qualifying effort with a main-event win, leading every lap of the race on his way to victory.

Hill’s teammate Austin Forkner snatched the holeshot to start the 250cc main event, but overcooked it going into the second turn on the track and went down, taking championship contender Aaron Plessinger down with him, along with quite a few others. Hill assumed the lead, with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Martin Davalos hot on his heels. Hill began to pull away, but just past halfway, he went down in a corner when he got hung up on a piece of plywood. He was up quickly, and his bike was still running. Davalos caught him, but was unable to pass him, and Hill began pulling away again, eventually winning by a little over 8 seconds over Davalos.

Behind them, points leader Shane McElrath had his hands full with GEICO Honda’s Jimmy Decotis. As TLD/Red Bull KTM’s McElrath eventually held off Decotis to take third. Decotis was fourth, with JGR Suzuki’s Phil Nicoletti scoring his best finish of the year in fifth. Plessinger ended up sixth, although at one point he had passed Nicoletti for the spot, but soon thereafter, he fell.
