2017 BMW R nineT Pure First Look
Rennie Scaysbrook | October 4, 2016
BMW has taken the covers off its latest R nineT version at Intermot in Cologne, this one dubbed the ‘Pure’.
As the name suggests, this is the most basic, easily customizable bike of the R nineT range, a bike BMW hopes will lure new riders into the family who might be on a budget or indeed want something completely stripped back to let their customizing juices flow.
The Pure gets the same 1170cc air/oil-cooled flat twin found in the rest of the R nineT range – for a First Look at the R nineT Racer, click here – and enjoys nice stylistic touches like forged aluminum footpegs and fork bridges. The gas tank and front mudguard are finished in what BMW calls Catalano Grey non-metallic.
Like the Racer, R nineT Pure’s 43mm forks are un-adjustable with the back-end getting preload and rebound adjustment, although ABS is standard fitment. BMW’s ASC (Automatic Stability Control) can be purchased as an optional extra.
U.S. pricing and availability has not yet been released.
