2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR/Factory: FIRST LOOK Rennie Scaysbrook | October 4, 2016 Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4 RR Aprilia’s big bore nakedbike gets the works treatment. Just like the new Aprilia RSV4/RR, the Aprilia Tuono 1100 RR and Factory will get a full facelift for 2017 including a new electronic suite courtesy of the Aprilia Ride Performance Control system, more horsepower and improved suspension and brakes. The revamped engine gains 500 more revs to help boost power to a claimed 175hp via combustion chamber changes, new conrods and DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) on the piston pins. Both Tuonos get the new Ride-By-Wire throttle from the RSV4, as well as the loss of the variable intake stacks thanks to improved mapping within the ECU. The APRC system houses new settings for the traction control (ATC), wheelie control (AWC), launch control (ALC), and bi-direction quick shift (AQS) system, as well as a pit lane speed limiter and cruise control (for a closer look at these systems, check out the RSV4 First Look here. Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4 Factory. The new Tuono also gets the Bosch Cornering ABS system, three engine maps, a new color TFT digital display and the ability to be programed by the revamped V4-MP app (the software to use the app on the Tuono 1100 Factory comes standard, if you want it on the RR it’s an optional extra. On the chassis side, the RR will get Sachs front and rear fully adjustable suspension, although this is swapped out for a higher-spec Öhlins NIX fork on the Factory. Both bikes get the new Brembo Monobloc M50 radially-mounted four-piston calipers and 330mm discs. The wheels are the same on both bikes, although the Factory comes with a 200 section Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa rear tire as standard compared to the 190 section Pirelli Diablo Rossi III on the RR.
