Irvine, CA (September 28, 2016) — Presenting sponsor Malcolm Smith Racing (MSR) is more than ready to get back to work as the largest AMA-sanctioned off-road racing series west of the Mississippi. Big 6 resumes on October 1-2, 2016 at the Viewfinders MC GP at Desert Empire Fairgrounds in Ridgecrest, California.
“It gets a little warm in the high desert so we have to take a break,” says Big 6’s Mike Garvin. “We are back… with some surprises!” Something new for this weekend’s MSR Big6 Viewfinders MC GP in Ridgecrest is an ArenaCross style section of obstacles mixed in with the usual high speed desert sections.“Should prove to be a real challenge to some of the desert guys.”
In addition to the battle for the coveted #1 plates heating up, the 43rd Annual Viewfinders Grand Prix is dedicated to Charlie “Da Blur” Powell and is part of the $2000 AMA West Coast Grand Prix Series. “We have been honored to have MSR as the Presenting Sponsor of the Big 6 Series for the past two years,” says Malcolm Smith Racing Hard Parts Brand Manager Jason Gearld. “This has been a perfect opportunity to get back to MSR’s roots.” Look for Jason in the pits with copies of the 2017 catalogs and a sneak peek at the latest gear.
“Our brand was started by the legendary Malcolm Smith, so for us to be involved with a series like the Big 6 is exactly what the brand is about.” Founded in 1971 by On Any Sunday legend Malcolm Smith, MSR began as a small accessory provider and evolved into an industry leading motorcycle apparel and hard parts manufacturer.
“Big 6 has worked hard to become a preferred motorcycle off-road racing series,” claims Garvin. “We cannot achieve this mission without the support of all of our sponsors, vendors and advertisers. Their financial support goes right into making an affordable, professional and consistent racing series for everyone,” he concludes.
