After his teammate had been fastest in the morning session at Misano, Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) pushed his way to the top of the overall WorldSSP times on Friday afternoon, leaving himself only 0.051 seconds ahead of the next best rider – Phillip Island podium placer Federico Caricasulo (BARDAHL Evan Bros. Honda Racing).
Session one top man Randy Krummenacher (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) had to complete day two with his opening session best time as his best one, putting him third in the pre-Superpole rankings.
Jules Cluzel (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) survived a crash to go fourth fastest, with American rider PJ Jacobsen (Honda World Supersport Team) getting himself into the top five.
Gino Rea (GRT Racing Team MV Agusta) slipped into sixth place as top MV privateer, with Christian Gamarino (Team GoEleven Kawasaki) the top Kawasaki private rider, in seventh place.
Two ESS riders (who only do the European rounds of the championship) scored the next places in overall WorldSSP qualifying – Alessandro Zaccone (San Carlo Team Italia Kawasaki) and Illia Mikhalchik (DS Junior Team Kawasaki). The list of the top ten qualifiers who make it into Superpole 2 straight from Friday’s track sessions was completed by Roberto Rolfo (Team Factory Vamag MV Agusta). Two more will join after Superpole 1 on Saturday.
All of the 37 riders who entered the Misano round qualified for the race itself.
