Motorsport.com is reporting Movistar Yamaha has secured the services of Maverick Vinales for the next two seasons.
The young Spaniard will thus replace the departing Jorge Lorenzo and partner incumbent Valentino Rossi.
Vinales reportedly made the decision at the recent French MotoGP, where he scored his debut podium in the MotoGP class for the Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP team.
It has not been revealed indeed who will replace Vinales at Suzuki, with many touting current Ducati rider Andrea Iannone as a likely candidate.
Confirmation of the deal is expected at the Thursday press conference at the following week’s Italian MotoGP.
