Motocross: Matt Bisceglia, MAD/Dirt Candy Suzuki Team Part Ways
Kit Palmer | May 27, 2016
MAD Racing Dirt Candy Suzuki and Matt Bisceglia have parted ways, according to a release issued by the team today, Friday, May 27. No specific reason was given for the break-up but it’s no secret that Bisceglia, the 2013 AMA Horizon Award recipient, did not have a standout season with the team in the 250SX East class in supercross this year. He finished on the podium once but did not crack the top 10 in any of the other races that he competed in. He did finish out the championship 10th overall.
Bisceglia started his pro career on the GEICO Honda team before switching over to the MAD Suzuki team at the end of 2015. He signed a two-year deal with the Suzuki team.
A portion of the release read: It’s been a rough road for MAD Racing and Bisceglia, with the 2016 season nearly being derailed all together due to several unexpected injuries. However, the MAD Racing crew stuck together and still gutted out a top ten overall in the 250SX East region. Although MAD Racing is disappointed the relationship with Bisceglia did not work out as planned, they are eager to see what the remainder of the 2016 season holds for stablemate Luke Clout and wish Bisceglia the best of luck in future endeavors. “We thank Matt for the time that he spent on the team and we wish him good luck.”
Bisceglia did not compete at Hangtown.
