Press Release | April 6, 2016
This is a press release from Bel-Ray…
Farmingdale, NJ (April 5, 2016) – Bel-Ray supported racers, Ken Roczen of RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy Johns/Suzuki Factory Racing and Jason Anderson and Zach Osborne of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing secured second- and third-place finishes during the 450SX and 250SX main event at the 12th round of AMA Supercross in Santa Clara, California, April 2.
Ken Roczen of RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy Johns/Suzuki Factory Racing took runner-up at Levi’s Stadium, which marked his seventh podium of the season. Roczen remains second overall in 450SX rider-points standings.
“It was a really good night for me and the team,” commented the rider of the No. 94 Suzuki RM-Z450 following his second runner-up finish of the year. “We made a bunch of changes during practice and that paid off. Had a great heat race and was able to win so I went into the main event pretty confident.”
Fellow Bel-Ray sponsored riders Jason Anderson and Zach Osborne of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing also celebrated the night with Anderson placing third in the 450SX main and Osborne finishing second in the 250SX main.
Out of the gate in the 450SX main, Anderson maneuvered into fourth position and by the second lap had pulled into third, holding strong until the finish line. He is currently third in overall 450SX rider point standings.
“My night went really well,” said Anderson. “I got a good start in the heat race, and the holeshot in the main event, which is unheard of for me this season. I rode good laps by myself the whole time and ended up on the podium.”
With an impressive third place start, Osborne moved full force into the lead in the first 250SX heat making his way into the main. He took the holeshot in the main and led for 11 laps in the 15 lap main event only to give up the lead near the end of the race. By virtue of his podium finish, Osborne moved up to fourth place overall in 250SX rider point standings.
“I had an interesting day,” said Osborne. “I had a big crash in the second practice, but got off to a good start in the heat race, passed into the lead pretty quickly and won. I got the holeshot in the main, led 11 laps, and got second. It was a good day, and I was close to winning. The track was pretty basic today, but it almost had to be because the dirt was so sketchy. I’m not disappointed.”
