Danny Eslick says he will race Saturday’s 75th Daytona 200 at Daytona International Speedway. According to newspaper reports in the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Eslick was arrested Tuesday night, but released just hours later from the Volusia County Branch Jail after posting $1,500 bail.
Eslick, who will ride a TOBC Racing Yamaha in Saturday’s race, is hoping to become the first to win the 200 three times in a row.
Cycle News reached out to Eslick and talked to him on Wednesday morning, but he said he didn’t want to go on record at this point about the incident that led to his arrest. “Hopefully we can talk about the race after I win it,” Eslick said.
