2015 Suzuki GSX-S750
Looking sleek and sexy, the new GSX-S750 is a formidable alchemy of proven performance and evolving practicality. Emboldened with Suzuki’s stalwart 749cc liquid-cooled 4-cylinder powerplant, and married to a comfortable upright seating position, imbues the new machine with all around capability. Whether you’re talking unadulterated canyon running or daily commute, the lightweight and muscular GSX delivers.
The new machine is more than merely a stripped down sportbike, but rather designed from the ground up as a performance street motorcycle. They’re right on the money here. Bottom line: the GSX-S750 does poetic justice to the thirty-plus year heritage of the original 750.
GSX-S750L5 MSRP $7,999. GSX-S750ZL5 (race blue and white paint scheme) MSRP $8,149.
We recently traveled to Austin, Texas, to get our first taste of the new GSX-S750. Though not the weather of choice for a ride, the rainy, wet conditions provided a real world test bed for the new Suzuki. Redesigned chassis provides uncanny stability for such a lightweight motorcycle. Arrow straight and solidly planted even under heavy braking, the new GSX is equal parts sportbike and comfortable weekend rider.
The 750cc powerplant provides a nice balance between power and usability. A tad more muscle than a 600, yet sanely shy of the overwrought power inherent in so many of today’s 1000s renders a motorcycle that is adaptive to a wide range of riding styles and practicality. Mid-range is where the GSX finds its comfort zone. Yet it’s completely at home on the rev limiter. The choice is yours.
