The third round of the Kenda/SRT AMA West Hare Scrambles Championship Series got underway at Hungry Valley SVRA, where Nick Burson led the way from start to finish. The Purvines Racing Beta rider was finally able to shake the bad luck and put in a solid performance to claim his first win of the season.
After a mediocre start, Travis Coy made his way into the lead pack. He made his final pass just before the two-hour mark, moving into second, where he finished for the second consecutive round.
Third on the day went to Cory Graffunder. The SRT/KTM rider was running in second place, but gave Coy the window he needed when he came in for his second pit stop. Coy – who only needed one during the race – gladly took advantage.
Even with his third-place finish, Graffunder is still leading the championship by 10 points over Coy.
