Husqvarna 701 Supermoto Prototype: FIRST LOOK
Kit Palmer | November 4, 2014
Check out this prototype 701 Supermoto street bike that Husqvarna unveiled at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy, today. Husky claims that it weighs 319 pounds and produces approximately 70 horsepower. It also features a ride-by-wire throttle control and Engine Management System, as well as the most advanced WP suspension, dedicated Supermoto ABS and APTC slipper clutch.
It’s powered by a 690cc, four-stroke single that is housed in a chromoly-steel trellis frame. It also features the latest Brembo radial brakes.
Husqvarna says that the concept bike “showcases innovative ideas and incorporates all the major design features of a premium product. The bike gives a visual indication of the direction of Husqvarna design, the philosophy that future Husqvarna’s will follow, where the surfaces of the bodywork are understated, focusing on simplicity.”
Husqvarna added that the production version should hit dealer showrooms by the fall of next year.
