Paul Carruthers | October 14, 2014
Hillclimber Todd Libhart died on Sunday, October 12 following an accident during the 65th annual Devil’s Staircase Hillclimb in Oregonia, Ohio. Libhart was 44 years old.
Libhart was an expert licensed rider in both the Xtreme and Unlimited classes and competed with AMA Pro Hillclimb since the 2009 season. The Pennsylvania native raced for the Kreeger and Sons Pro Hillclimbing Team alongside his brother, Phil.
This is the second loss for the hillclimb community in 2014 as 16-year-old hillclimber Colin Krenzul lost his life in a streetbike accident in August.
For information regarding memorial contributions for Libhart, AMA Pro Racing says to contact Professional Hillclimbers Association representative Amanda Campbell at 304/541-6610.
