Racer Productions, along with RacerTV, producers of GNCC’s exclusive Internet- and television-based coverage, announced the telecast and online streaming schedule for the 2014 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Maxxis. Featuring a total of 71 hours of race coverage from this year’s 13-round GNCC Series, sanctioned by AMA, NBC Sports Network and RacerTV.com will once again combine to showcase the most comprehensive coverage in series history.
GNCC Live on RacerTV.com kicks off in conjunction with this year’s Mud Mucker season opener in Bunnell, Florida, on Saturday, March 8, and Sunday, March 9. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday with round one of Pro ATV racing and continues on Sunday afternoon with Pro bike racing at 1 p.m.
Embarking on its second year of production this season, GNCC Live continues to provide in-depth race coverage using state-of-the-art broadcast equipment and innovative technology. The webcast will once again showcase live coverage of every Pro ATV and Pro bike race this season, totaling approximately 65 hours of live racing coverage throughout the season.
Longtime GNCC Announcer Rodney Tomblin will return as the host of GNCC Live, working alongside 2011 GNCC XC2 Pro Lites Champion and current Factory FMF/KTM XC1 Bike Pro Steward Baylor Jr., who will provide guest commentary for Saturday’s ATV show, while factory Yamaha-backed GNCC XC1 ATV Pro Johnny Gallagher will step into the booth during Sunday’s bike show. As longtime GNCC Racers and well-accomplished athletes, both Stu and Johnny will provide unique insight and first-hand knowledge about the racing conditions. Outside the booth, Jen Kenyon will once again provide the latest breaking news from the pits, while also interviewing riders before and after they hit the course.
“In my 20-plus years in the racing industry, this may be the most excited I have ever been,” said GNCC Live host Rodney Tomblin. “Knowing the endless possibilities of bringing the racing action live to viewers at home through GNCC Live on RacerTV.com like it has never been done before has breathed a whole new life into my already burning passion for this sport. I am excited to work with such a talented team that loves this sport as much as I do.”
In addition to its live coverage of the AMSOIL GNCC Series, RacerTV will also broadcast the most exciting action from each round on NBC Sports Network after each event. Beginning Saturday, May 10 with coverage of the Mud Mucker GNCC, NBC Sports Network will air 30-minute telecasts to include the most intense racing action of the weekend, ranging from Pro ATV and bikes to 4×4 ATVs, and even Side-by-Side racing from select events throughout the season.
“GNCC Live provides flag-to-flag coverage of the pro races, giving off-road enthusiasts a front row seat to the action even if they aren’t able to attend an event,” said RacerTV Producer Jason Hooper. “However, the all-new format on NBC Sports Network not only offers up additional content for those who are already tuning in, but it also provides viewers outside of this sport an all-encompassing view of what GNCC Racing is all about – more action, more intensity and even more racing on two- and four-wheels!”
Hooper also added, “It was our goal to place RacerTV shows around the most popular motorsports programming on the network and we’re excited to announce that five of 13 GNCC shows will air before or after a round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, which is immensely beneficial to our viewership.”
