Off-road racer Nick Davis (above) and Obermeyer Yamaha in Indiana have agreed to a deal that will see Davis race the 2014 Kenda AMA National Enduro Series and the GNCC series aboard an Obermeyer Yamaha-backed Suzuki RM-Z450.

Here is the press release in its entirety:

Fueled by passion and enthusiasm, Keith Obermeyer of Obermeyer Suzuki in Jasper, Indiana and Nick Davis from Meshoppen, Pennsylvania, have formed Obermeyer Suzuki Off-Road Racing.

The focus will be on winning championships, and will require using one of the most acclaimed bikes to conquer this task, the Suzuki RM-Z450!

With the huge sales growth that Suzuki and its dealer network have experienced in the last year, it is no coincidence that more riders and racers are migrating to the RM-Z line of motorcycles to go off-roading.

Keith Obermeyer states, “By using the 2014 Suzuki RM-Z Dealer Race Support Program to our advantage, we were able to use the RM-Z and Suzuki’s focus on dealer-supported racing to fit our needs for this upcoming season. I have never seen this type of program from any manufacturer for grass roots support of dealer-backed racing! Suzuki is on the gas and we are looking forward to this season.”

“Josh Strang was the champion in 2010 on Suzuki and runner up in 2011 so we know the technology is champion approved, and has only improved since then. The guys in MX and SX have proven the potency of the RM-Z line with the likes of Davi Millsaps, James Stewart, and the RCH Suzuki Team.”

Obermeyer goes on to say, “The RM-Z is an amazing machine–smooth, strong power, great suspension package, and the best handling chassis available.”

As news about Suzuki having a strong presence in GNCC and National Enduro has been buzzing on the various web sites and blogs, there is a high level of excitement surrounding the upcoming season. The 19 year-old Nick Davis will have solid backing from Obermeyer Suzuki, coupled with support and resources from many of the  top companies in the industry, to compete for the championship of the 2014 season.

Obermeyer is honored to have continued support from: Fly Racing,FMF,GE Capital, Unabiker, Sunstar Sprockets and Chains, IMS Products, Enduro Engineering, Rekluse Clutches, as well as new sponsors: Stickman Graphics, Eleven Ten Mods, Suzuki Motor of America, Inc., Suzuki Genuine Parts and Accessories, Works Enduro Rider Suspension, NoToil Air Filters.
