Tickets are now on sale for the Day of Stars, a popular annual event that allows fifty lucky fans the opportunity to meet the stars of MotoGP, tour the race paddock, pit garages, discover the gorgeous Carmel Valley and ride on a world renowned race track, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
The Day of Stars is a benefit event for Riders for Health, the official charity of MotoGP, which is an international non-profit organization that mobilizes health workers in Africa with reliable motorcycles so that they can reach rural communities with essential health care.
The exclusive daylong event will be held on Thursday July 18, prior to the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, featuring the MotoGP World Championship and is hosted by American grand-prix legend and Riders for Health co-founder, Randy Mamola.
Day of Stars begins with a continental breakfast at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca followed by a motorcycle tour of the scenic Carmel Valley. Participants will then return to the race track for a catered lunch before taking a private tour down pit lane, after which guests will take to the track for parade laps. The day concludes with special interviews with MotoGP riders, team managers and special guests during a live charity auction to benefit Riders for Health, which is open to the general public.
In years past, motorcycle racing legends Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey and Loris Capirossi as well as current MotoGP stars, Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Colin Edwards, Ben Spies, Cal Crutchlow and Randy De Puniet, have participated in the Day of Stars.
Tickets for Day of Stars cost $500, of which $375 is a tax-deductable donation to Riders for Health. Only 50 tickets are available and the event sells out. To purchase tickets call 904-419-9433, visit www.DayofStars.org or go to www.MazdaRaceway.com.
