It’s hard to imagine being at the peak of your career at 41, but that seems to be the case with Mike Brown. Almost 12 years after winning the AMA 125cc National Motocross Championship, “Brownie” has redefined himself as one of the best off-road racers in the world, and if everything goes his way, he will prove himself to be the best EnduroCross racer in the world by the end of the year.
After playing bridesmaid to his teammate (and rival) Taddy Blazusiak the past few years, Brown has started off the 2013 season with a win at the opening round of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series, and this past weekend he beat out Blazusiak (and a lot of other worthy off-roaders, including top Euros Graham Jarvis and Jonny Walker) to win the Barcelona X Games Enduro X.
The down-home Tennessee rider is not a one-trick pony either, over the past few years he has competed in and won all kinds or off-road events, such as GNCC, Baja, and the Tennessee Knockout.
We caught up to Brown in Barcelona and chatted with him about his recent success in EnduroCross and off-road in general.
