The following is from Taddy Blazusiak Media Services…
KTM Enduro Factory Team rider Taddy Blazusiak is ready and waiting for the opening round of the ’10 US Endurocross championship. Winner of the six-round series in ’09 having dominating the championship to secure the #1 plate at the penultimate round, Taddy has his sights set on winning a second prestigious US indoor crown.
During ’09 Blazusiak dominated the Endurocross championship. Topping the podium at the first three events a runner-up result at round four was followed by yet another win at the series’ penultimate race, which was enough to secure the title with one round remaining. Taddy’s ’09 championship winning season was in stark contrast to his ’08 championship campaign, which ended with Taddy having to undergo facial surgery following a practice crash prior to the second round of the series.
So far this season Blazusiak has put his name to the Indoor Enduro World Cup title, enjoyed successful outings at two rounds of the Enduro World Championship and claimed an amazing fourth straight win at the gruelling Erzberg Rodeo event. With the majority of his European extreme enduro commitments now fulfilled Taddy turns his attentions to the ’10 US Endurocross championship, which runs from this coming weekend through until November.
Taddy Blazusiak: ‘Endurocross is the big one as far as I’m concerned – the championship I most look forward to and the championship I most want to win. I think I’ve experienced every kind of emotion during my participation in the series over the last few years but winning the title last year was amazing, it more than made up for the pain and disappointment I went through in ’08.
‘This year, like every year, it will be tough. There are some great riders competing in the championship so I know I will have to be on top of my game to retain my title. But I’m confident that I can do that. It’s been a rollercoaster season for me so far. I feel like I haven’t stopped since winning the Indoor Enduro World Cup. I’ve had a few injuries that have made things harder at times, but I’m ready for the Endurocross opener.
‘Racing in Vegas is always special. Last year I made a perfect start to the series and went on to win the first three events. I’d love to do the same again this year but winning the title is the most important thing. The next five months are all about Endurocross for me. I can’t wait to get the championship started.’
