Gobert To Ride Holden’s Honda
Press Release | March 19, 2009
The following is from Jake Holden’s publicist…
Former AMA Superstock Champion Aaron Gobert will ride the #59 Holden Racing entry in American Superbike at the Fontana round of the AMA Roadracing Championship. After Jake Holden was tapped by Corona Extra Honda Racing to substitute for the injured Neil Hodgson, the Holden Racing #59 entry was in need of a rider. After so many people stepped up to help Holden Racing in the Daytona paddock, Jake figured this was a good time to return the favor, “When Murph (Syndicate’s Michael Murphy) called me and said I was going to ride the Corona bike, he asked me if Gobert could ride my bike this weekend. Aaron’s a good rider who, like me, was left without a ride this season. After all the help I got at Daytona, I figured it was time for me to pay it back. Hopefully, I don’t have to remind Aaron not to pass the team owner!”Gobert is confident going into the Fontana round, “the CBR1000 is a great package for American Superbike. We have all seen how fast Neil has been during testing and at Daytona. Granted, we don’t have all the trick bits he’s got but the bike is good enough to stick it up in there with some of the factory boys and show what a determined privateer can do.”
