AMA Dirt Track Re-signs Progressive, Releases Schedule

AMA Pro Racing has announced that Progressive Insurance will continue as title sponsor of the AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championship for the 2003 and 2004 racing seasons.”We’re thrilled to be back as the title sponsor, said Miriam Deitcher, Direct Product Manager, Progressive Insurance. “The past three years have given us a chance to talk with lots of motorcycle and racing enthusiasts, helping them understand what makes Progressive the number one insurer of motorcycles. We gave the series a boost back in 2000, when we stepped in as title sponsor, and the fans love it. We’re proud to bring such a great sport to such an appreciative audience, and look forward to seeing everyone out at the track in 2003!”

John Farris, Vice President of Commercial Development at AMA Pro Racing added: “Progressive Insurance has been a valuable partner of ours for four consecutive years, and we’re elated that the sponsorship has produced the results they are looking for. Progressive Insurance is a genuine, hands-on partner, and its involvement has resulted in great things for the series.”

As part of the new,two-year agreement, Progressive will play an even more active role in the sport.

“The promotional commitment that Progressive has made for the series is significant, and will deliver direct benefits to fans, teams, riders and our promoters,” continued Farris.

Additionally, AMA Pro Racing has issued the 2003 AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championship schedule. Currently, 20 events are slated for the upcoming racing season with additional events likely to be added, acccording to Bruce Bober, Flat Track Manager for AMA Pro Racing.

“The AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championship is comprised of both historical events as well as a few new venues,” Bober said. “The series will begin on March 8, 2003 during Daytona Bike Week, and concludes on September 28, 2003 at the legendary Springfield Mile. Four-time champion Chris Carr is planning on campaigning the 2003 series in defense of his title.”

AMA Pro Racing will soon be releasing the schedules for the Harley-Davidson Sportster Performance Series and AMA National Hot Shoe Series events. Also, coming soon are exciting new 2003 series rules for a 10-race 505cc based series.
