2018 Atlanta 450cc Supercross Results: The Atlanta Supercross marked the official halfway point of the 2018 Monster Energy/AMA Supercross Series, and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson took the opportunity to extend his points lead, winning his fourth supercross of the year. In the first main event of the Triple Crown format, Christian Craig (filling it at Honda, from the GEICO Honda 250cc team). He led the main for a while, but once he was caught by the freight train of Motoconcepts/SmarTop Honda’s Justin Brayton, Anderson, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM’s Blake Baggett, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac, and Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin, they all went by him in a matter of four corners.
Brayton held them all off at the finish to win the opening main event of the night over Anderson, who fought Baggett off the entire main event. Behind Baggett came Musquin, then Tomac a distance behind after losing contact in the late stages of the race. Craig was sixth, and Husqvarna privateer Chad Reed was seventh.

In the second main, Anderson grabbed the holeshot after Baggett drifted too wide in the first turn. Monster Energy/Knich Yamaha’s Cooper Webb took over second in front of Tomac, and then came Baggett and Brayton. Anderson held on to win the main, just holding off Webb (who went down with Weston Peick and Broc Tickle in the first main event). Tomac was third over Baggett, Musquin, Brayton and Craig.
In the final main event, Craig snatched the holeshot over Baggett, Musquin, Anderson, Webb and Tomac. A few laps in, Baggett got kicked in a rhythm section and nosed in to a jump, his arms buckling on impact. He stepped off his motorcycle and off the track indicating a possible hand/arm/chest injury from the impact. He would not continue.
Musquin grabbed the lead before long and ran away with the win over Tomac, Webb, Anderson and Craig.
Anderson took the win with a 2-1-4 over the 4-5-1 of Musquin and the 5-3-2 of Tomac. It was Anderson’s fourth win of the year, and Musquin’s fourth second-place finish in a row. Anderson now leads Musquin by 42 points as the series heads to Daytona next weekend.
